Just confirmed– a second speaker at the “Heart and SOIL” seminar on Wed. March 25th. Ajay Thakkar is part of Dr. Constance O’Connor’s “Test Your Dirt” research project at McMaster University. Ajay is a third year undergraduate student in the Honours Biology Program. He is interested in sustainability and the environment and has helped start the Test Your Dirt initiative. His talk focuses on the issue of lead contamination in Hamilton’s urban gardens, and what citizens can do to maintain healthy gardens and prevent the spread of contamination.
